The best Giant M&M Cookies ever !
When I make them M & M cookie, I don’t make regular cookies, I make super-giant sized cookies. Using an ice cream scoop makes these giant cookies quick and easy. It also makes them perfectly round (unless you place them too close together on your cookies sheet like I do sometimes).
I made these cookies for many years and lost the recipe. I ran across this recipe from Picky Palate on pinterest and it looked similar to the recipe I used to use so I had to give it a try. Yep, it tasted just like the ones I used to make. Happy dance….I have made several batches of cookies and they have turned out perfect every time.
The secret to making perfect cookies (any kind of cookies) every time is using dry pudding. I use it every time I make cookies and they turn out perfect every time. I don’t know what it is about the pudding but it keeps the cookies from being too hard or too soft. Even after several days, they stay the perfect texture.
I have tried several flavors of pudding in these cookies including vanilla and cheesecake but my favorite has been white chocolate. My head is just full of ideas of different combinations of pudding and cookie ingredients. I’m even seeing chocolate cookies with chocolate pudding and white chocolate chips. I may have to make a quick trip to Walmart!
Soften butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Place the rest of your ingredients (excluding M&M) in a mixer and beat until all ingredients are combined.
If you want giant cookies, use and ice cream scoop. (notice that the dough even looks like ice cream) Scoop the dough and place it several inches apart on parchment paper.
Here is where I differ from most bakers. I put the M&M’s on last. I want a lot of M&M’s on my cookies. After I have the dough on my parchment paper, I take the M&M’s and start placing them on the dough, pushing down slightly. By the time all of the M&M’s are on, my cookies are much flatter as you can see by the picture.
I have also made them adding chocolate chips and pecans. I have several other combinations I want to try such as adding white chocolate and maybe other types of nuts and candies.
If you use a large ice cream scoop, you can get a dozen 5 inch cookies.
