Pompeii, Italy ~ Part 2

I had so many pictures of Pompeii, Italy that I had to make this a two-parter.  Here is the link the Part 1 if you missed it.

Walking the streets and seeing how much of the city was still intact was awe inspiring, especially when you are standing on these ancient street looking at Mount Vesuvius in the background. The ancient town’s winding roads and walkways, and patchwork of residences in which the wealthy once lived shoulder to shoulder with the poor, can be confusing so grab a map when you purchase your tickets. Yet taking a walk alone with a prerecorded-guide headset or on an escorted tour can provide a thorough view of how this Mediterranean community lived and died nearly 2,000 years ago.

My daughter and I decided we couldn’t go to Italy without going to Pompeii.  It’s one of those places you dream about seeing but never think you will.  Like most places we visited, I wasn’t prepared for what I was about to experience.  Walking through Pompeii gave us the opportunity to study an ancient city frozen in time
