BLACKBERRY LEMONADE
I love blackberry Lemonade! Okay, I love any type of lemonade but I have a great fondness for blackberries. Wendy’s even carried a blackberry lemonade on their menu last year.
I keep blackberry syrup in a cruet in my refrigerator making it simple to grab and add to any recipe. To make it even easier, I usually purchase lemonade but I have added a recipe below if you want to make your own.

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice or bottled lemon juice
- 1 cup water + enough water to fill 2 qt pitcher (7 cups)
In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar.
Prepare lemon juice if using fresh lemons.
In pitcher, stir together sugar syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.
Blackberry Syrup
- 3 cups fresh blackberries juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- Add blackberry juice, sugar, lemon juice and water to a medium sauce pan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, and boil for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before use.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I store large amounts in a canning jar but keep what I am using in cruet (see above photo) and just add a dash of syrup to my drinks, pancakes, or ice cream. I usually pick mine up at our local Dollartree.
To make blackberry juice
Put clean, washed blackberries in a saucepan and cover with water (It takes about 2 cups of water for 4 cups of blackberries). Cook for about 10 minutes. (your house will smell wonderful) Pour everything through strainer into a bowl. I take a spoon and mash the blackberries to make sure I get all of the juice through the strainer.
