CLASSIC NO BAKE COOKIES

This classic no bake cookie has been around forever and can be made from ingredients found in almost every pantry.

These delicious chocoalte and peanut butter cookies are so easy to throw together. The hardest part is waiting for them to harden!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup peanut butter (your choice of creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place wax paper or parchment on counter or cookie sheet.
  2. Bring the sugar, milk, butter and cocoa to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, then let boil for 1 minute.
  3.  Remove from the heat. Add the oats, peanut butter, vanilla, and stir to combine.
  4. Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared wax/parchment paper and let sit at room temperature until cooled and hardened, about 30 minutes.
  5. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
